East Midlands Trains Class 43 (HST) is the TOPS classification used for the InterCity 125 High Speed Train power cars, built by BREL from 1975 to 1982. 197 of those HST were built for a speed of 200 km/h.

All coaches are equipped with a Cummins QSK19 diesel engine, which develops 560 kW (750 hp) at 2,100 rpm. Speed is 200 km/h.

Class 222
The British Rail Class 222 is a diesel-electric multiple unit high-speed train capable of 200 km/h. Twenty-seven units have been built in Belgium by Bombardier Transportation with 4, 5, or 7 cars per trainset. The East Midlands Train with a four trainset stops at Luton station.
