Ada express to start service between Adapazari and Istanbul


Adapazari-Istanbul regional passenger train service will start again on 5th of January 2015, which ended about 3 years ago due to construction works of high speed train and Marmaray.

Name of the service will be “Ada Express” which is going to run between Arifiye and Pendik, 4 times a day in both directions.

Ada Express will call at Arifiye, Sapanca, Izmit, Gebze and Pendik.

By 2015, trains will call also at Korfez, Derince and Buyukderbent stations.

Pendik-Adapazari timetable, options and ticketing

Other stations on way, Diliskelesi, Tavsancil, Hereke, Kirkikievler and Kosekoy will start to be used in 2016.

Standard ticket is 16 TL (about 6 €).

The service from Pendik to Arifiye will last 76 minutes. TVS 2000 type full-automatic air conditioned coaches will be used. These coaches are being produced by Tuvasas in Turkey, using Y-32 bogies designed for speeds of up to 160 km/h with double stage vertical suspension system.

The new electric locomotives of TCDD, Hyundai E68000s are expected to be used for traction. 35 Hyundai E68000 locomotives were produced 8 of which are almost ready for approval and service.
