The passengers using suburban services in Turkey’s three biggest cities of Turkey had exceeded 130 million last year.
75.2 mn of them was carried by Izban, joint venture of TCDD and Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, 43.6 mn by Marmaray in Istanbul and 11.8 mn by Ankaray in Ankara.

Construction works continue on all of these three lines for extension or modernization where there are two more cities, Kayseri and Gaziantep, with projects for suburban service.
