The construction works at Akdagmadeni Tunnel on Ankara-Sivas high speed train line is completed.
5-km-long Akdagmadeni Tunnel, the longest tunnel on Ankara-Sivas high speed train line, is completed. A ceremony will be held today due to this completion.
The Akdagmadeni tunnel is 5120 m long and accepted as the toughest part of the Ankara-Sivas high speed line construction works.
The Ankara-Sivas high speed line is 405 km long, double track, permitting max speed of 250 km/h. The travel will last two hours between Ankara and Sivas after completion. With the connected services via Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, the Ankara-Sivas high speed line will have an annual ridership of 3 mn passengers.
The Ankara-Sivas high speed train line is expected to be commissioned in 2018.
