Long-awaited Konya-Karaman HST connection will be commissioned tomorrow.
Mr Karaismailoglu, Minister of Transport, stated that Konya-Karaman high speed line will be commissioned on 8th of January. The old single track conventional line connecting Konya to Karaman has been modernized as double track, electrified and signalized. All level crossings are eliminated allowing max speed of 200 km/h.

Konya-Karaman in 35 minutes
On this 102-km-long line, Ankara-Konya-Karaman and Istanbul-Konya-Karaman HSTs will run. The travel time between Konya and Karaman will drop from 90 to 35 minutes. It will take 2.5 hours between Karaman-Ankara and 6 hours between Karaman-Istanbul. As of 6 Jan, new timetables including Karaman have not seen yet on TCDDT system.
The line will be used also by Konya-Karaman regional trains. Cukurova Express (Konya-Adana train) which was suspended due to pandemic will use this line if starts. Line will also be used by freight trains.
There are 3 stations between Konya and Karaman: Kasinhan, Cumra and Arikoren. HSTs are not expected to call at these stations.
