It is often heard that Turkey will become a freight railway hub with a significant transit traffic. There are many difficulties to be solved before this can occur.
For sure TCDD is a public company, inefficient, with a poor track record on quality and security. So it seems to fit the same bill as the EU railways some years ago.
Following a comment I made about open railway access in Turkey, Onur asked me to expand my point of view.
