Jeff Hawken is a lifelong rail professional, with experience of UK and international railway operations in both the passenger and freight sectors.
He takes a special interest in the railways of Central and Eastern Europe.
His main areas of expertise are train planning (in the wider sense of timetabling and resource planning) for both UK and International freight and passenger services.
He was the UK representative to Forum Train Europe from 1999 to 2003.
More recently he worked in a senior position in Network Rail’s West Coast Route Modernisation Project, before becoming Operations Planning Manager for HS2 Ltd.
He is also a tutor for the Operations Planning Module of the Institution of Railway Operators Degree Course.
