Iron ore has the biggest volume in goods carried by freight trains in Turkey. Thus, the are mainly carrying iron ore and coal in Turkey top10 stretches for freight train traffic are in the same area, connecting iron ore mines to steel plants.

It’s striking that although the industry is mainly around Istanbul, the only stretch in the list is Halkali-Kapikule which is the 16th.
