Problems faced in construction works of Baku-Tblisi-Kars Railway is told to be solved and no more delays is expected.
Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim stated that all problems which have caused delays on Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Projects are solved and first train will run on the section by the end of 2016.
The Baku-Tblisi-Marabda section of the project is currently being used actively. The Marabda-Akhalkalaki section which was inactive for years is renewed and ready for use. The Akhalkalaki-Kars section, which includes Georgia-Turkey border crossing by tunnel and is being constructed by Turkey had faced delays due to technical and legal problems.
Freight trains are planned to run first on Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway. The passenger service is also expected to start within 2017.
