TGV Sud-Est (TGV-PSE), Fransa

SNCF TGV PSE
The SNCF TGV Sud-Est or TGV-PSE was the first French high speed TGV train built by Alstom and operated by SNCF. The TGV-PSE fleet started operation 1981. The sets were built to run at 270 km/h but later were upgraded to 300 km/h.

TGV Réseau, Fransa

The SNCF TGV Réseau (TGV-R) trains were built by Alstom between 1992 and 1996. These TGV trainsets are based on the earlier TGV Atlantique. They are formed of two power cars with 8,800 kW and eight carriages, giving a capacity of 377 seats. They have a top speed of 300 km/h.

SNCF TGV Réseau
TGV-Réseau sets for 300 km/h entered service in 1993. Fifty bi-current sets were ordered in 1990, supplemented by 40 tri-current sets in 1992/1993. Later 38 units were changed to double deck configurations to add capacity. The old Réseau coaches were upgraded and used to form the TGV-POS.

TGV-POS, Fransa

SNCF TGV POS
TGV-POS consist of two new power cars with eight TGV Réseau-type carriages, with a power output of 9,600 kW and a top speed of 320 km/h. They have 25kV 50Hz and 15kV 16.7Hz systems for operations to Germany and Switzerland.

TGV-Duplex, Fransa

SNCF TGV Duplex
The TGV-Duplex was built to increase TGV capacity without increasing train length. Each carriage has two levels, with access doors at the lower level taking advantage of the low French platforms.

TGV-Duplex ve Réseau, Fransa

On busy routes such as Paris-Marseille TGV-Duplex are operated in pairs, providing 1024 seats in two Duplex sets or 800 in a Duplex set plus a Réseau set as in this picture.
