Metrans ended container train service between Turkey and Europe. The company was the biggest number of weekly trains on this route. Rail Cargo left as the only container train operator on this route.

Siemens Velero TR sets started service. These new sets have special business compartment. They will work on Ankara-Konya route.

Eurasia Rail was held in Istanbul for the last time. The fair will be held biyearly at Izmir.

Engineering works started for Gaziantep suburban train system (Gaziray). Baspinar-Gaziantep-Oduncular railway stretch is closed during these works.

June

Train services started between Istanbul-Bucharest and Istanbul-Belgrade. Trains work during summer time and depart from Halkali.
