First wagon export started from Turkey. Hopper wagons are produced by RC Endustri for Switzerland.

First 100% locally produced main line loco project announced: E5000. Tulomsas, Tubitak and ITU are working on this project. The loco will be ready in 4 years.

New metro and trams should have at least 51% local contribution.

Logitrans fair was held in Istanbul. There were less European and more Asian companies in the fair.

First train operator, Omsan Logistics, started transport of iron ore by rail between Divrigi and Iskenderun. Omsan has 15 locos and 350 wagons rented from TCDD Tasimacilik.

Second private train operator, Korfez Ulastirma started service on Kirikkale-Izmit route. The company carries oil between Tupras’ rafineries.

First phase of Turkey’s first driverless metro, Uskudar-Umraniye-Cekmekoy, is commissioned.
