First Baku Ankara train set has just arrived at Turkish border.

The train set that had been ordered by Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) from Stadler has just arrived at Kapikule border station. The set had departed from Switzerland 14th of March and has reached Turkish border in 6 days.

This train set will run as overnight train between Baku and Ankara. Set has 9 sleepers and 1 dining car. Some of the compartments have WC and shower. The set was unveiled at Innortans 2016.

Baku train review

The set transported on wheels and will pass through the special tracks at Turkey-Georgia border from standard gauge to broad gauge. The transport is being organized by Eksper Rail in Turkey. The company had also organized transport of high speed train sets to Turkey.

Baku-Ankara train is expected to start service in 3rd quarter of this year.
