How to get to Cappadocia by train?

The historical region and natural beauty in central Anatolia.

The area is known with exceptional natural wonders, in particular characterized by fairy chimneys and a unique historical and cultural heritage. (see more at Wikipedia). Hot-air ballooning is very popular in Cappadocia and gives chance to see whole region from air.

Cappadocia is in Central Anatolia, within the province of Nevsehir, very close to Kayseri. Closest train station is Kayseri train station.

Kayseri Bus Terminal is 8 km away from train station. You can go there by bus or tram. Nevsehir is 70 km away, and there are bus services almost every hour during day. Cappadocia is very close Nevsehir (13 km) and transport to main destinations and towns in the region (Urgup, Goreme, Ihlara Valley, Uchisar, Avanos and Zelve) is very easy with minibuses running very frequently during day.

Travel to Cappadocia by train

From Istanbul and Izmir, it’s possible to reach Kayseri via Ankara. Then interchange to Cappadocia by bus. From Adana there’s direct train service to Kayseri.

  • You can list the bus services and buy tickets from Kayseri to Nevsehir at in English.
  • Balloons are departing very early in the morning. You need to reserve your seat one day before.
