High speed trains

High speed trains are connecting Ankara, Istanbul, Konya, Eskisehir, Izmit, Bilecik and Karaman with a speed up to 250 km/h.

HSTs run with lower speed on city passes, shared lines with other type trains and temporary lines due to engineering works.

Trains have economy and business class seats and business compartments. In some lines there’s dining service (charged additionally). 

TCDD high speed train fleet has CAF and Siemens sets. 

High speed trains are popular and tickets are sold out very fast. It would be good to buy the ticket in advance. Tickets are on sale 15 days prior to departure. Online ticket is available.

HSTs give service on 6 routes as of April 2023:

Turkish high speed line network (January 2022)

Istanbul-Ankara, Ankara-Konya and Ankara-Sivas lines are very high speed lines where only HSTs run. Konya-Karaman and all other lines under construction allow upto a speed of 200 km/h which can also be used by other trains.
