Big step for port connections

A train moved with a CIM between two domestic stations in Turkey for the first time.

In cooperation with MOS, TCDD and Turkish Customs, a new procedure is tested in Turkey. At weekend, containers carrying import goods which arrived Alsancak port, were transshipped to wagons and transported to MOS Logistics terminal with CIM documents.

There are many advantages of carrying such good with CIM. There’ll be cost savings from assurance, declaration, stamp tax. Furthermore, no additional customs declaration will be needed at arrival.

This regulation is a very important step especially for port connected rail transportation. After some updates on customs and TCDD system, this will spread to whole country in a very short time.
