Derails

The biggest loss of human life is mainly caused by derails, when trains leave the track. Pamukova and Corlu accidents are of this type. Here below is the graph of derails:

There are many reasons of derails like over speed, wheel or infrastructure problems.

Pamukova accident was an example of over speed. There are now train equipments communicating with signalization and preventing over speed.

Corlu accident was an example of derailment due to problems is infrastructure.

Renewal of railway, regular maintanance of both infrastructure and railway cars are the main solution to this type of accidents. On the other hand, in single track network in Turkey, renewal works cause delays in train traffic and train traffic causes delays in works.
