TCDD Tasimacilik increased domestic rail freight tariff to be valid from today.

Though tariffs are generally updated in the beginning and rarely in the middle of year, TCDD Tasimacilik announced a change in tariff in October this time. The domestic rail freight tariff is increased by 20% as of today.

With new tariff, the unit price has reached to 0.12 TL/km-ton. With this unit price, a transport of 1000 tons for a distance of 1000 km (ie from Kosekoy, Izmit to Adana) costs 96k TL + VAT.

Despite this increase, the domestic prices are still much less than international tariff. An export/import transport from a station 1000 km from border costs around € 30k, which doubles the domestic tariff.
