Departments of TCDD, which are going to form TCDD Tasimacilik AS -the new train operator of Turkey which will be splitted from TCDD by the liberalization of railway transportation- has started working in their new office on the other side of Ankara Train Station as of 2015.
By liberalization, TCDD will remain as infrastructure operator where freight, passenger, traction departments will be separated from TCDD and will be reorganized together in TCDD Tasimacilik AS. The new company, TCDD Tasimacilik AS, is an incorporated company, and will compete with other private train operators in public transportation and freight with its own rolling stock.
The new organizational structure and designations are expected to be completed within this year.
TCDD Tasimacilik AS will be supported by government for 5 year. The new company has to compete with private operators after liberalization, and being an incorporated company, managers will have more initiative. Thus new policies are expected to be introduced about new transportation projects and tariffs by TCDD Tasimacilik AS.
