While the construction works for Karsiyaka and Konak trams continue in Izmir, target date for opening of Karsiyaka Tram is announced as the end of this year.

The track laying of Karsiyaka Tram Project has reached almost to half, where first 700 mt has been laid in Konak Tram Project. Construction works are done by Gulermak.

The 8.8-km-long Karsiyaka Tram will give service between Karsiyaka Port and Mavisehir where 12.7-km-long Konak Tram between F.Altay Square and Halkapinar. Both trams will run every 3-5 minutes.

Hyundai Rotem’s catenary-free trams will run on both lines. The production of tram cars are being finalized at Hyundai Eurotem plant in Adapazari.
