Turkey’s new train operator, TCDD Tasimacilik, introduced new domestic tariff valid for 2017.

The new tariff has come with about 5% of increase valid for the first 5 months of the year, and another about 5% increase for the rest of the year.

TCDD Tasimacilik also introduced additional supports for the huge volumes, long term agremeents, long distances, transport on electrified tracks.

A special tariff is introduced for the start-ups (loads to be transported by rail for the first time this year) with a little discount.

The new tariff disappointed railway clients who were waiting discount or at least same rates after liberalization.

Penalty for train delays

On the other hand, new tariff shows that TCDD Tasimacilik will focus now more on efficiency and the well-designed railway transportation projects will have the chance to face lower rates from now on.
