Metro and tram projects – Other cities
Metro and tram works continue or soon start in 5 other cities of Turkey. Here are these projects, amount of investment until this year, 2019 budget and remaining amount:
The suburban system of Ankara, Baskentray, will have signalization system soon, thus project will be completed within this year. TL 86 mn is allocated for Baskentray. As signalizion is completed, trains will be able to depart more frequently. The AKM-Kizilay extension of Ankara metro has a good budget as well: TL 225 mn.
Varsak-Zerdalilik tram of Antalya has the biggest budget excluding Istanbul projects. TL 510 mn will be spent this year. Varsak-Otogar phase is expected to open this year.
Gaziantep suburban system, Gaziray, has got a budget of TL 250 mn. Construction works completed except the underground part in the middle. Tender was opened in late 2018 for electrification and signalization. Partial opening within this year was announced.

There are two rail projects to start this year: Fahrettin Altay-Narlidere metro in Izmir and Dagkapi-Hastane tram in Diyarbakir.
