Asian and European side of Turkey is disconnected for more than a year by rail.
And beginning with the closure, everybody is looking forward to hearing from TCDD the good news, that is the start of the rail ferry service between Tekirdag and Derince.
Yes, last year trials had been done, with some problems, however the start was postponed for a number of reasons since then.
Disconnection meant a lot of lost business, additional costs and unhappiness for the railway world.
Now, it’s been unofficially announced that the ferry start in late May 2013.
The construction work in both ports has already begun and hopefully will be finished in a month.
Wellcome back The Ferry, we all miss you..
