The partial and total closures that Bulgarian Railways started on the rail connection of Turkey to Europe will affect railway traffic between Turkey and Europe.
As stated by a Rail Turkey reader in Bulgaria, Bulgarian Railways (BDZ) has started the following schedule, valid from 3rd of June, for an unknown period, due to renewal work on line:
- Septemvri – Plovdiv : Closed between 06:00-21:00
- Dimitrovgrad-Simeonovgrad : Completely closed
- Simeonovgrad-Svilengrad : Closed between 09:00-16:00
Trains may use the lines during night where partial closure is applied. On the other hand, trains should go via Nova Zagora due to complete closure, which means an additional 100 km in Serbia direction.
