Rail transport projects of Istanbul

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality will focus mainly in 2 metro projects in 2015, Uskudar-Umraniye-Cekmekoy and Kabatas-Mecidiyekoy-Mahmutbey.

Extension of Kadikoy-Kartal metro to Kaynarca will be another project to focus this year. An investment of 1.7 bn TL is budgeted for these projects this year.

But the rail transport projects of Istanbul are not limited with these. There are many other projects preliminary analysis of which have already been finished, routes and budgets are set. Most of them are metro, others are cable car, monorail and ligh rail projects. Here are the deadlines, project value and 2015 budget of these projects:

These 10 projects need fund of 3.5 bn TL every year in average starting from 2016 in order to be completed in 2019 as planned. Including Kabatas-Mecidiyekoy-Mahmutbey metro project, Istanbul will need an investment of more than 4bn TL every year until 2019 for rail transport projects.
