Acarlar Vagon became the first Turkish company to get “Maintanance Functions Certificate”. With this certificate, Acarlar Vagon can do maintanance and revisions of European Wagons.

Due to the new legislation of COTIF, freigth wagons should have ECMs (Entity in Charge of Maintanance) to be able to be operated in international traffic since 2013.

ECMs are fully responsible for the whole process of maintanance. The only company in Turkey certificated for ECM is TCDD (EIN No: TR/31/0014/0001).

ECMs are responsible for three main functions:

• Documentation of all maintanance issues of wagon
• Organizing all process from taking wagon from operation for maintanance and takin back to operation
• Maintanance of wagon and its parts

ECMs can have subcontractors for these three functions. Acarlar Vagon, got one of the certificates about these functions “Maintanance Function Certificate” (EIN No: FR/32/0214/0004). With this certificate given by CERTIFER, Acarlar Vagon can be subcontractor of ECMs for wagon maintanance and revision. Company is certificated also for maintanance of tank wagons carrying dangerous goods.

Acarlar Vagon expects not only doing on-way maintanance works, but also willing to take share from wagon revisions.
