Bozankaya’s first set of 30-tram-sets order produced for Kayseri will soon start test drives on rail.
Kayseri, having Turkey’s longest tram network, had ordered 30 tram sets to meet the increasing demand and first set of this order will soon start test drives on city network.
The €42mn worth contract was inked in August 2014. The trams are 33-mt-long and 100% low-floor.
Bozankaya introduced its tram produced for Kayseri city, trambus produced for Malatya city and electric bus for Konya and Eskisehir cities in Eurasia Fair. The company is also supplying tram bodies and bogies to global tram manufacturers. Bozankaya also supplied bodies of Istanbul Tram, produced by Istanbul Ulasim.
Kayseri Ulasim, the subsidiary of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, is currently carrying 100k passengers every day on 34-km-long network with 38 Ansaldo Breda tram sets. Daily ridership is expected to reach to 150k after delivery of new tram sets completed.
