Turkish Government had set the deadline for completing all legal steps about liberalization of railway transportation by 21st of June, 2016.

This includes:

• Splitting of TCDD as railway operator and train operator and foundation of TCDD Tasimacilik AS
• Legislation for licenses of train operators and other rail companies
• Other legislations (rail course and exam center, train driver, safety staff, public service liabilities)
• Network manifest

When will first private train depart?

Splitting of TCDD and foundation of TCDD Tasimacilik AS is ready and waiting for final approval.

Long discussions made on legislation for licenses of train operators and other rail companies. Altough others published as draft on website of Railway Authority, this one has not.

Draft of other legislations are ready (see at website of Railway Authority under Mevzuat/Taslak Yönetmelikler menu).

Network manifest is announced to be prepared by TCDD within this month.
