Train services from Istanbul to Bucharest and Belgrade started this weekend.
The first train to Belgrade departed from Istanbul (Halkali) on Friday, and to Bucharest on Saturday evening.
Bucharest wagons run together with Bosphor Express to Sofia until Dimitrovgrad, and change loco there. Timetable of Bucherest train is as follows:

Belgrade wagons run with Bosphor Express until Sofia, and continue from there after a short delay. Timetable is as follows:

There’s bus connection from Sirkeci to Halkali for these trains.

What an exciting development! Will these trains be using the new tunnel that Turkey built under the Straits?
No, they all depart from European side
when will they start using the tunnel?
Never, I guess..
Why? I thought Turkey’s new tunnel under the Straits was going to be used for inter-continental freight and passenger trains.
