The overnight train service between Istanbul and Bucharest started with the first departure from Istanbul yesterday.
The train departs from Halkali station. There are 4-berth couchettes, 2 and 3-berth sleepers in the train. 2-berth sleepers of Romanian Railways (CFR) has toilet and shower inside the cabinet.
Similar to last year, Bucharest train will run during June-September this year.
The travel time is between 17-19 hours. Tickets are available starting from € 51.
The train departs every night from Halkali and arrives Bucharest next evening. Return is about noon from Bucharest and arrives Halkali in the morning.
Due to Marmaray engineering works, the train departs from Halkali. Starting with next year, the train is planned to depart from Sirkeci station.

Excellent, I will be taking it two times this year. A pitty it still has bad connections at Bucurest tough and impossible to book in middle and western Europe 😦 (but always beds free!)
