The legislation about the train services that are going to be operated by TCDD has been published.
There are many changes in the list, extension of current services, restart of suspended trains and new routes.
Here are highlights from the list:
Sirkeci becomes main station again
The European side trains to Kapikule and Uzunkoprü will start departing from Sirkeci station. For this, we’ll need to wait for the completion of engineering works on Halkali-Kazlicesme stretch.
No main line trains from Istanbul
There’s no main line train running between Istanbul-Ankara in the list. And there’s no other main line train to other cities from Istanbul either.
Ada Express on its original route
The legendary train Ada Express, which is running currently on Pendik-Arifiye with very low frequency is in the list. The route is published as Haydarpasa-Adapazari. This will wait completion of Marmaray project on Asian side. It’s still not clear if the arrival station is Mithatpasa or Adapazari.

Are they still talking about finishing the rebuild of Halkali-Kazlicesme in 2019? And will European passenger trains from Sirkeci still operate on the ‘old’ route away from Sirkeci towards Halkali? Or will they load/unload like Marmary trains, in an underground tunnel?
