Presidency of Turkey announced second 100-days action plan. There are many targets about railways and metros in the plan.

The 2nd 100-days plan was announced last week by Presidency of Turkey. The targets about railway are now more in detail compared to first one. Some targets remained from the first plan.

Here are the targets about railways and metros:

New metro tenders lead

There are many “tenders” in the 2nd 100-days action plan about metro lines and cars. The target of “73 km metro line and 248 metro cars” of 1st plan seems to be written again in 2nd plan, but this time in detail.

Here are the metro tenders of next 100 days:

• Big Istanbul Tunnel
• Izmir Halkapinar-Otogar metro
• Yenikapi-Sefakoy metro
• Bakirköy-Kirazli metro cars (72 cars)
• Istanbul airprot metro cars (176 cars)
• Ankara airport metro

Marmaray to be commissioned

2019 1st quarter was the last target for second phase of Marmaray. This was confirmed ascompletion of Gebze-Haydarpasa and Sirkeci-Halkali sections and start of commercial service is written in 2nd 100-days action plan.

Marmaray will be the backbone of mass transit in Istanbul and will also enable high speed train service and freight trains run through Marmaray tunnel between Europe and Asia. Electrification and signalization works continue inthe project.
