The first container train to Moscow departed from Ankara today.
Preparations for regular container service between Ankara and Moscow has completed. First train departed from Ankara today.
First train is carrying 15 containers of white appliances, similar to export trains to China. The producer of goods is Arcelik.
Train will use Kars-Tbilisi-Baku line, pass through Georgia and Azerbaijan before reaching to Moscow. The route is 4650-km-long. The transit time is planned as 8 days.
Train is organized by Pasifik Eurasia. The company had also organized a fresh fruit train from Mersin, Turkey to Astrahan, Russia last December. Pasifik Eurasia is also the organiser of China trains.
The transports between Turkey and Russia used to be done via Samsun-Kavkaz rail ferries, which was stopped as Samsun railway was closed due to renewal for a couple of years. BTK line has now become the main rail connection to Russia, which is quite faster than the old route.
