Tekirdag Derince ferry departed with its loads on Tuesday night from Tekirdag Port, and arrived to Derince Port yesterday.
Long-term awaited ferry was loaded with empty tank wagons and a few railway machines in its first run.
Tekirdag Port seems to be almost ready for regular service, now waiting for the official approval of port authority.
On the other side, the Derince Port overcame the problems with new constructed dolphins. Berthing and unloading took place very fastly.
The ferry service between two sides of Istanbul, Sirkeci and Haydarpasa, ended in the beginning of February 2012 because of the construction works of Marmaray. Since then, all trains coming from Europe has stopped in European side, and not been able to reach to Asian side.
The Tekirdag Derince ferry had first been trials a year ago, but could not proceed due to problems with the port ramps.
