Transports by rail on Kosekoy-Bozuyuk line connecting Istanbul and Europe to Eskisehir and Asia, which had stopped due to construction works of Istanbul-Ankara high speed line and renewal works, have just started.
2 years ago, Derince and Kosekoy terminals had been closed to Europe traffic due to Marmaray construction works and delay in Tekirdag-Derince rail ferry. After ferry starts, these terminals then lost the connection to Asian side due to construction works of Istanbul-Ankara high speed line and renewal works on Derince-Bozuyuk conventional line.
Since conventional line was frequently used for construction works of Istanbul-Ankara high speed line, the restrictions has waited the completion of construction works.
The line is now open to freight traffic. However, since line is planned to be used partially by high speed train for a while, freight trains will only be able to move during 23:00-06:00.
