The electrificaton works on Konya-Karaman railway has started with a ceremony at Karaman yesterday.
Project covers the electrification of double-track Konya-Karaman line where laying of rails has almost completed. Power stations will be built in Cumra and Karaman.
The contractor of the project is Yapi Merkezi. The engineering works are planned to be completed in 600 days.
The first high speed trains is expected to start in second half of 2018. The passenger service, on the other hand, is expected to start with diesel units by the end of this year.
