Turkey’s biggest suburban service, İzban, is now getting prepared to run double decker trains.

As annual ridership reaches 90 millions and network length reaches 137 km from Selçuk to Aliağa, İzban is now getting prepared to increase its capacity and comfort by operating double decker trains.

Izmir leaded suburban trains

İzban has recently opened new extension line of Tepeköy-Selçuk. The company decided to buy 25 new sets to meet the increasing demand. 9 of these sets will be double decker.

Double decker trains will be more comfortable and are expected to be prefered by especially citizens travelling long distance.

İzban has currently a fleet of 77 sets. New sets are expected to be delivered in 2 years. With new sets, the capacity will be increased by 40%.
