Austrian rail operator Rail Cargo signs MOU with TCDD Tasimacilik and Azerbaijan Railways.
After China and Iran trains, Rail Cargo now focuses also on Baku-Tblisi-Kars railway. Company inked MOU with TCDD Tasimacilik and Azerbaijan Railways, to increase the transport on Europe-Turkey-Caucasus route.
Rail Cargo has followed an agressive marketing on Southeast Europe and dominated the market far in front of its competitors. The company now tries to catch up the Europe-China rail freight market. China-Italy train was the start in recent months, and it becomes the first European company to take action for Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
As Rail Cargo is active in rail transports from Trieste, it wouldn’t be suprising that it uses Mersin Port for rail connection to Cacucasus, Central Asia and China.
The company has recently announced that it’ll start container train from Germany to Iran in 2018 via Mersin Port.
