Turkrail has started second weekly train between Turkey and Austria.
Turkrail, being the only Turkish company operating container train between Turkey and Europe, has increased its weekly departures to two. Second train has departed from Halkali on Friday last week.
Turkrail trains are departing from Halkali on Thursday and Friday. Trains arrive Wien in 4 days. Departures from Wien are on Thursday and Saturday.
Last year, as Metrans ended its container train service, only one operator left operating container trains between Turkey and Europe. Turkrail then announced new service on July.
In previous years, there had been a shift from direct container train services from Turkey to Ro-Ro + train services via Trieste. However, some of them return back in recent months.
