Most efficient tram
Istanbul is the city with longest tram network in Turkey: 38 km. With some exceptions, mayorship is mainly focused on metro. Some tram lines are very crowded. 187 million passengers carried on trams, which means about 5 million pax/km.
Kocaeli is 2nd on the list, carrying 18 million passengers on 7.5 km long line in 2018.
In Kayseri, 40 million passengers were carried on 34 km long line.
Izmir is 4th on the list with 2 new tram lines. Though one of the lines had started service in the middle of year, 24 million passengers were carried last year.
Eskisehir tram preserved 1.1 million pax/km last year and is 5th on our list.
