Highest ridership per citizen
Izmir is on the top of the list this year again. Each ciziten travelled 72 times in Izmir. Izban became the backbone of urban transport also supported by two new tram lines.
Eskisehir is again 2nd on the list. Each ciziten used the award-winning tram system 55 times last year.
There’s a new city on 3rd rank, where tram line was opened recently. Only population of Izmit was taken into account and Kocaeli reached 51 travels/citizen, slightly higher than Istanbul.
Istanbul has passed Bursa with the new passengers of Marmaray, reaching 50 travels/ciziten. City will have better rank soon as Kabatas-Mecidiyekoy-Mahmutbey and airport metros are commissioned.
Despite an increase in ridership, Bursa had fallen back to 5th rank after Kocaeli and Istanbul.
