Turkey’s new train operator TCDD Tasimacilik AS published its first circular for private wagon owners.
Circular obligates wagon owners to follow UIC leaflet 535-2 about the steps and handrails of wagons. Wagons not meeting the conditions in leaflet will not be allowed to run on Turkish rail network from 1st of March 2017.
UIC’s leaflet 535-2 is prepared for standisation and positioning of end platforms, gangways, tow hooks, automotic coupler and brake valve controls in addition to steps and handrails.
Circular is prepared by TCDD Tasimacilik AS’s Head of Logistics and carries logo of TCDD Tasimacilik AS.
It’s interesting that circular prefers to say “wagons not meeting these conditions will not be allowed on Turkish rail network” rather than “as train operator, we’ll not allow such wagons in our trains”.
