TCDD Tasimacilik is now in the “rent a rolling stock” market with its huge fleet.
TCDD Tasimacilik introduced in its new tariff the rental fees of locos and freight wagons.
According to the this tariff, the electric and diesel locos of TCDD may be rented on monthly basis. The mothly fees start from 15420 €/month for electric locos and 10720 €/month for diesel locos. The shunting locos can also be rented.
The companies renting locos should meet the minimum volume to be transported, and will be charged based on the net ton of goods transported in additon to rent fee.
TCDD Tasimacilik also introduced rent fees for their freight wagons. The rental fee starts from 10 €/day for 2ax platform wagon.
This step may deeply effect the liberalization of railway transportation and may encourage new operators to start earlier than expected.
It would be really interesting if private companies prefer supplying their rolling stock via this way, which may encourage TCDD Tasimacilik for being the biggest “rent a rolling stock” player in Turkey.
This step may also effect the plans of global companies which focused on Turkish rail market. Eurasia Fair hosted leading of wagon/wagon producers and fleet owners last week in Istanbul.
