Ulusoy Logistics ended the Cerkezkoy-Cologne trailer train which had started in June 2014.
The train was carrying Ulusoy’s own trucks and containers between Turkey and Germany/Benelux/UK.
The train service was organized two years ago with traction and pocket wagons supplied by DB Schenker Rail. After the successful trial, the target was announced as three trains per week, but continued with one train per week for almost two years.
Under the pressure of effective competition of ro-ro + trailer train services via Trieste, the last trailer train service directly departing from Turkey had ended. Last year, Mars also did test runs for trailer train directly to Turkey, but did not continue.
