Metro/tram projects of Istanbul Municipality

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality carries out 7 metro and tram projects:

1. Kabataş-Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey-Esenyurt metro
2. Eminönü-Alibeyköy (Haliç) tram
3. Göztepe-Ümraniye metro
4. Bostancı-Dudullu metro
5. Çekmeköy-Sultanbeyli metro
6. Ataköy-İkitelli metro
7. Tavşantepe-Tuzla metro

Metro projects of Ministry of Transport in Istanbul

Ministry of Tranport started 3 metro projects in Istanbul. One of the metro projects of Municipality also was taken over by Ministry:

1. Gayrettepe-İstanbul Airport-Halkalı metro
2. Tavşantepe-Sabiha Gökçen Airport metro extension
3. Başakşehir-Kayaşahir metro
4. Kirazlı-Halkalı metro

Metro/tram projects in Izmir and Ankara

Metro and tram projects carried out by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality are as follows:

1. Narlıdere metro
2. Buca metro
3. Çiğli tram
4. Karabağlar metro

Transport of Ministry owned a 4.5 km long metro project in İzmir (Halkapınar metro), but that has not started yet.

There are 2 rail projects ongoing in Ankara:

1. M4 Kızılay extension (Ministry)
2. Ankaray Söğütözü and Natayolu extension
